“The PowerGrit pipe cutting chain has been a durable and efficient way to cut ductile or cast iron pipe in an excavation pit because you do not have to dig 2’ -3’ below the water or sewer main to make a complete cut. The time to cut the pipe is also reduced versus a cut saw.”

“Over the years I had wondered why someone had not come out with this kind of saw, they had them for concrete. So when I seen this saw at the distribution conference in Washington last year, I knew we needed one because of how it could cut the pipe from one side. We had used this saw on a couple of occasions since we have had it. The true test came on Friday, July 15, 2011 when we had a bell on a 6” C.I. break. This line laid right next to a 30” storm drain making it impossible to dig on both sides with the backhoe. To make matters worse, we could not get one valve to close completely. With the ICS saw and PowerGrit chain, the near impossible became possible. This saw was able to cut thru the C.I. with water flowing with no problem. In the past with our chop saw and diamond blade this would have been a very difficult task (chop saws do not like water flowing), you would have to cut a bit, pull back, reave up to dry the belt then constantly repeat this process until you had it cut and with where this line laid, this would have been very difficult. This saw is worth every penny, it saved us at least 3 hours if not more time. Very satisfied customer”
